The first exhibition of the “HELI-X Project” at Laforet Harajuku.
The exhibition and the POP-UP STORE is at the space “MAKE THE STAGE”on the 5th floor where just opened November in 2022. In these days, many Japanese stage productions are based on comics or games, but the “HELI-X Project” started as completely original production for theatre. The production had been running the show constantly once a year, “HELI-X II” in 2021, “HELI-X Ⅲ”in 2022, even while COVID-19 pandemic. The fascinating points are powerful action choreography and the story has many dramatic sequences happening at the same time. And also, it has strong messages comes from philosophical and ideological theme about social issue, so It is quite unique entertainment in modern Japanese theatre industry. We introduce you the world of the HELI-X series with visual arts through the exhibition. Original script makes available to design and create whole visual all by ourselves with the keys,”ART” , “FASHION” and no struggle. This exhibition, we show you a couple of artworks which has not been published yet before, and actual costumes for stages. The world of the stage “HELI-X” has strong concept of art and fashion. あえて難しいことにチャレンジしなければいけないと感じました。そうでなければ日本の演劇界は前に進んでいかないと考えたからです。 I felt that I had to dare to challenge something difficult. This is because I thought that otherwise the Japanese theater world would not be able to move forward.
私たちが目指したのは、「極限の世界を生きる登場人物たちの、深い人間ドラマ」を描くことでした。 What we aimed for was to draw "a deep human drama of characters living in a world of extremes".
そこから生まれてくる写真は、シンプルで、とても強いものでした。The photos that came out of it were simple and very strong.
衣裳は人物像を表現するためだけではなく、本来“オートクチュール“です。 Costumes are not only used to express a person's image, but are essentially "haute couture."
