疾駆する馬上から矢で的を射抜く、流鏑馬(やぶさめ)。6世紀の故事にルーツがあるとされ、武芸の競技であ る以上に、射手には高い精神性が問われ、身につける装束は必ず伝統的なものが使われるという神事です。 国内外のスピリチュアルな風景を撮影したり、映画やテレビ、舞台演劇などの撮影を手掛けている古田氏 は 、も と も と 日 本 の 武 道 に も 興 味 を 持 っ て お り 、あ る き っ か け で 2 0 1 6 年 4 月 に 鶴 岡 八 幡 宮 の 鎌 倉 ま つ り で 行 わ れ る流鏑馬神事を見る機会を得て、すっかり流鏑馬の虜になったと言います。その時に夢中で撮影した写真が きっかけで、鎌倉市観光協会や大日本弓馬会からの協力が得られ、武田流の神事へ同行しての撮影が始まりま した。 本書は、全国4か所での流鏑馬神事の情景を迫真の描写力でまとめあげた、珍しいフォトストーリーです。祭 事の前の準備の時間、独特なカラーハーモニーで彩られた装束や馬具、そして見た目よりずっと狭い馬場へ風の ようにアプローチし、上下動をしない美しい姿勢のまま、あっという間に3つの的を居抜き翔けすぎる射手。膨大 な カ ッ ト か ら 選 ば れ た 約 1 4 0 枚 の 写 真 に は 、厳 か な な か に も 緊 迫 し た 雰 囲 気 、祈 り を 支 え る 様 々 な 様 式 美 、剣 の 作法にも似た美学、馬や矢の威力の凄まじさなど、目で見えない流鏑馬文化の深奥が熱く編み込まれています。
馬 の 動 き は 、1 9 世 紀 の 写 真 技 術 黎 明 期 に 好 ん で 撮 影 が 試 み ら れ た モ チ ー フ の ひ と つ で す が 、古 田 氏 が あ え て 被写体と普段向き合っている話法と変えずに挑んだ、という撮影スタイルによって、馬や人の素早い動きと躍動 感などが、むしろ写真本来の面白さや美しさをくっきり浮き立たせる興味深い帰結を生んでいます。しかも、人 と自然を愛し撮影し続けている彼の作り手としての美質が、歴史や祈りのニュアンスを帯びた神事に裸の目線 で向き合いながら一層輝いていることも見逃すべきではないでしょう。
公益社団法人 大日本弓馬会・武田流が2019年に設立80周年をむかえたことを節目とし、国内外から手軽に 見ていただきやすいよう電子書籍として刊行することになりました。場面のシーケンスやリズムを大切に考えて 組まれたデザインも古田氏が手掛けたものです。

Yabusame is a shooting horse that shoots at the target with an arrow. It is said that there are roots in the events of the 6th century, and even if it is a martial arts competition, the archers are required to have a high spirituality, and traditional costumes are always used. Mr. Furuta, who shoots spiritual landscapes at home and abroad and shoots movies, TV, stage plays, etc., has a great interest in martial arts in Japan. It is said that he was completely captivated by the Yabusame horse when he had the opportunity to see the Yabusame Shinto ritual that was held at the Kamakura Festival in Tsuru Oka Hachiman Shrine in April 2016. At that time, I was absorbed in taking pictures, and with the cooperation of the Kamakura City Tourism Association and the Dainippon Yuma Horse Association, I started shooting with the Takeda-ryu Shinto shrine. This book is a rare photo story that summarizes the scenes of Yabusuma Shinto in four places nationwide with a true depiction. At the time of preparation before the festival, costumes and harnesses colored with unique color harmonies, and approaching the riding field much narrower than it looks like a wind, with a beautiful posture that does not move up and down, in 3 blinks An archer who overshoots the target. Approximately 140 photographs taken from a huge number of photographs, in spite of the harshness, an atmosphere of tenseness, various styles of beauty that support prayer, The deepness of the invisible Yabusuma culture, such as the aesthetics similar to the sword’s manner and the tremendous power of horses and arrows, is enthusiastically woven.
The movement of the horse was a favorite of the early 19th century photography techniques in the early days of photography. With the shooting style that I challenged without changing the conversation that I usually face, the quick movement and dynamism of horses and people produce interesting interesting results that bring out the original fun and beauty of photography. .. Moreover, it should not be overlooked that his beauty as a creator who loves people and nature and continues to shoot is shining even more with naked eyes facing the rituals with history and prayer nuances. ..
Taking the milestone of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Japan Nippon Horse Association/Takeda-ryu, we decided to publish it as an e-book for easy viewing both inside and outside Japan. Mr. Furuta also worked on the design that was carefully designed with respect to the sequence and rhythm of the scene.
