PHOTO EXHIBITION “GREEN GATE”
at GALLERY SPEAK FOR, TOKYO

刻々と変化し二度とは再生しない海の表情を、神奈川県葉山町の浜辺を舞台に撮り続ける私小説的な味わいのあるシリーズで、2015年春にGALLERY SPEAK FORで初めての個展を開き、写真集にもまとめあげて話題を呼びました。一方で、その海と対になるような、森の緑の美しさに引かれたシリーズも継続して取り組んでいます。それが本展で公開する「GREEN GATE」と名付けられた作品群です。

森林の奥深くではなく、人里から森へ通じるバッファーとしての里山と水辺がおもな撮影の場に。「緑の中に門があって、その向こうに何かがいる。とんでもない”気”を感じずにはいられません」という彼は、仕事で各地を旅するごとに、その地の森や沢へ分け入っては精霊と対話するように写真を撮るといいます。本展では、多くの時間を割いて向き合い深く魅了された愛媛県内子町の写真を中心に、京都や葉山、南仏アルルでの作品も合わせて「緑の門」を主題に構成し、約35点のプリント作品を展示・販売いたします。また、ポストカードセットやオリジナルトートバッグ、関連書籍なども紹介・販売いたします。

This is a series with a taste of his novel that continues to take pictures of the sea that changes every moment and never regenerates on the beach in Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture. In addition, he is continuing to work on a series that draws on the beauty of the forest’s greenery, which is paired with the sea. That is the group of works named “GREEN GATE” that will be shown at this exhibition.

Satoyama and the waterside as an overlay that leads from the village to the forest, not deep in the forest, are the main shooting places. “There is a gate in the green, and there is something beyond that. You can’t help feeling it.” It is said that you take a picture so that you can talk to the spirit when you split into the swamp. In this exhibition, the theme of “Green Gate” is about 35, focusing on photographs of Uchiko-cho, Ehime Prefecture, which has been fascinating and fascinated for many hours, and works in Kyoto, Hayama and Arles, France. In addition, we will introduce and sell dot prints, postcard sets, original tote bags, and related books.
